Attending ICT from September 2022 on a p scholarship was a transformative experience that came at a pivotal moment for me and my family. We were navigating life in a foreign land as missionaries, seeking a community that could provide not only mentorship but also a broader perspective on our work. ICT was the answer, offering a global network rooted in practical Christian living. The diverse backgrounds of the students, scattered across different time zones, created a dynamic learning environment where we could explore topics from multiple viewpoints. This unique setup taught me that even when we’re looking at the same thing, our perspectives can be vastly different, which significantly widened my own worldview.
The learning model at ICT was incredibly effective and has had a lasting impact. In our weekly video calls, we would start by
sharing our experiences and then discuss a common reading, which allowed us to hear diverse interpretations and insights. This approach of learning the same material from different angles was invaluable. Beyond the discussions, the program provided hands-on skills that I’ve been able to apply directly to my work, from starting and running a house of prayer to mobilizing believers for new missions. The Applied Learning in Community Development(ALCD) course, in particular, helped me model a sustainable community development project in Nairobi. I highly recommend ICT to anyone seeking a pragmatic and flexible learning model that seamlessly integrates into their daily life and schedule.
